About Us:
Hello everyone! My name is David Cash, owner of Chesty’s Dog Training. I just wanted to thank you for visiting my site and hope I can help those who need help with their dog's training, bad behaviors, or whatever your current needs are.
I named our business after Chesty the Bull Dog, who is our Marine Corps Mascot and of course Mr. Puller himself. This helps me stay grounded and connected to my military roots as well as a reminder to keep pushing, help those I can, and give everyone 100% into providing the best service and guidance I can offer.
A little about me, I served in the Marine Corps as a military policer and struggled to find a life and purpose outside of the military. I started my dog training journey through the ABC (Animal Behavioral College) program and graduated as a ABC-CDT (Certified Dog Trainer). I worked for my former mentor in White Oak, Virginia as a Doggie day care attendant and a trainer two times a week. Over my time there, I realized that a lot of the problems people struggled with weren't just as simple as getting a dog to sit or some of the more basic obedience commands; it was problem behaviors, such as doing something that is dangerous, harmful to people, animals, and other dogs, or behaviors like bolting out of the house near busy streets. Due to the current work environment, I left that position and started training dogs on my own to help others with their problems and achieve their goals.
Later working under a different mentor, I realized that being able to solve problems like these in the places that they occur (like your home) drastically helps owners overcome their hardships.
So, when you sign up for a class or a dog walking service, you'll get someone who is always available to help, easy to talk to, and reliable. You can always call with questions and for support. Again, thank you for accepting me into your community and I hope to meet you and your dog companions soon!
